The GIS for Quantitative Spatial Data Analysis workshop series was held online from 17th May to 9th June. It was a 4 weeks and six 3-hour sessions workshop, organised by the Wheelers Institute for Business Development, a subsidiary educational arm of the London Buiness School. The aim of the workshop / summer school was to acquaint economists on the GIS and spatial quantitative methods needed for economic research and by extension business intelligence. Major topics taught were Introduction to GIS for economic and business intelligence research, Python for geospatial analysis, Google Earth Engine and QGIS (open source) based spatial analysis. At the end of the workshop, participants were asked to replicate a research work by Storeyguard,. A. (2016) on the Transport Costs, Trade and Urban Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa using python in jupyter notebooks.
